Hey there, wonderful families of Laurel, Eillsville, and nearby areas! We at DAFS are super excited to invite you to Kids’ En Plein Air, a delightful outdoor art event just for kids and teens! This fun-filled morning is all about celebrating our local young artists while also supporting local survivors of domestic abuse and human trafficking. Don’t worry—we keep things light and ensure the kids have a blast, while parents and guardians can learn more about our agency.
We’re thrilled to celebrate five fantastic years in Laurel! Join us on April 26 at Trustmark Art Park in Downtown Laurel for an afternoon of creativity and fun!
For just $25, each child will receive a cool art kit, an easel, and yummy snacks! While we’ll have a home base at the park, kids (with their adult guardian in tow) can choose any outdoor spot that inspires them to paint or draw. It’s all about enjoying art in the beautiful open air! We have different age groups, and winners will receive some awesome prizes. The registration fee is for each child participating, but parents, grandparents, and non-participating guests are more than welcome to hang out with us for free! Art kits and prizes are possible thanks to Magnolia State Bank! Because of the nature of our work, let us know if you need a little help paying the fee. We sometimes have people sponsor fees for children. We don't want any disappointed children missing out! Friday, April 25
3 - 4 p.m.: Registration and packet pick-up at the Lauren Rogers Museum of Art lawn (Skip the early lines with this option!)
Saturday, April 26
9:30 a.m.: Late registration and packet pick-up at Trustmark Art Park
10 a.m. - Noon: Painting or drawing
Noon: Turn in completed art and enjoy a corn dog and refreshments!
1 p.m.: Awards announced
Prize categories are for age groups 3 to 5, 6 to 8, 9 to 12, 13 to 15, and 16 to 18.
